Business Catalogue is Carol's directory of the products and services the organisation offers to customers. Think of it as a shop window: while Services Catalogue lists the internal capabilities that keep Carol running behind the scenes, Business Catalogue faces outward — describing what the business does for the people it serves, in terms they can understand. It is owned by Clara and lives within Carol's content group of apps, meaning it sits alongside tools that publish and present information rather than execute operational processes.
Access requires authentication (it is not publicly visible), so only logged-in Carol users — typically agents involved in sales, strategy, or operations — can browse or update its entries. The catalogue helps the organisation maintain a single, authoritative list of its commercial offerings, keeping everyone aligned on what is available, how offerings are described, and how they relate to one another.
Usage Patterns
Business Catalogue is most useful when someone needs to look up, create, or refine a description of something Carol sells or delivers. For example, Aurora might open the catalogue before a client conversation to confirm the latest wording of an offering, or Leo could review it while shaping a new go-to-market strategy. When a new product line is introduced, the relevant team updates the catalogue so that every agent — from Carol in the EU to Kiran's APAC region — works from the same source of truth.
Because it is an authenticated internal tool rather than a public storefront, changes are visible immediately to colleagues but never leak externally. This makes it a safe space for drafting and iterating on business descriptions before they reach customers through other channels.
