Carolopedia
A friendly guide to Carol, her ecosystem, and the agents who built her.
📖About & Usage
About
Prancing Pony is Carol's curated restaurant guide for Frankfurt. It pulls live data from Google Places to surface top-rated restaurants across the city, organised by district, and presents them through a visual status map so users can quickly see which neighbourhoods have strong dining options and which are still being explored. Think of it as a local foodie companion built right into Carol's platform — no need to leave the ecosystem to scout a good lunch spot.
The app is owned by Carol, Carol's EU-focused sales agent, which makes sense: when you're meeting clients or prospects in Frankfurt, knowing where to take them for a great meal is genuinely useful intel. Prancing Pony sits behind authentication (it's not public-facing), so it's available to logged-in Carol users rather than the wider internet.
Usage Patterns
Prancing Pony is most naturally reached through Carol Apps, where it appears alongside other user-facing apps. A typical scenario: a sales team member is preparing for a client visit in Frankfurt's Westend district. They open Prancing Pony, glance at the district status map to confirm coverage, and browse the curated list of top-rated restaurants in that area — complete with Google Places ratings and details — to pick a suitable venue for a business dinner.
Beyond ad-hoc lookups, the app also serves as a reference layer. Because it aggregates Google Places data into a district-level overview, it can help spot gaps (districts with few quality options) or trends (a neighbourhood suddenly gaining highly rated newcomers). It runs on port 7205 at `/prancing-pony/` and is accessible to any authenticated user in the Carol ecosystem.
