Deployment Tracker is Carol's logbook for production deployments — every time code goes live, this app keeps a record of what was deployed, when, and by whom. Owned by Elrond, it serves as the engineering team's single source of truth for release history, making it easy to answer questions like "what changed last Tuesday?" or "which deployments landed this week?"

Rather than relying on scattered git logs or chat messages, Deployment Tracker centralises deployment records into one browsable interface. It sits within Carol's infrastructure tool group alongside apps like Carol Infra Monitor and VM Metrics, giving the engineering and operations teams a clear audit trail without having to dig through server logs.

Usage Patterns

Deployment Tracker comes into play whenever a new release is pushed to production. For example, after Forge finishes a feature and Argus signs off on testing, the deployment details — service name, version, timestamp, and any relevant notes — are logged here. If something breaks in production, Elrond or Rhea can quickly pull up recent deployment records to pinpoint which release introduced the issue, speeding up diagnosis and rollback decisions.

Beyond incident response, the app is useful for routine housekeeping: reviewing deployment frequency, spotting bottlenecks in the release pipeline, or simply keeping stakeholders informed about what's shipping. Anyone with authenticated access can browse the records at Carol's deployments dashboard, making it a handy reference for planning and retrospectives alike.
