Carol Chat is a browser-based chat interface that lets administrators talk directly to Carol — Carol's AI sales agent for the EU region — using the same conversational "brain" that powers her WhatsApp channel. Think of it as a backstage pass: instead of reaching Carol through WhatsApp like a regular user would, admins can open a web page and interact with her instantly, right from the browser.
The app exists because administrators sometimes need to test Carol's responses, debug conversation flows, or simply ask her something quickly without switching to a phone. By exposing the same underlying logic in a lightweight web surface, Carol Chat keeps the experience consistent — what you see here is exactly what a WhatsApp user would get — while giving admins a faster, more convenient way to interact.
Usage Patterns
Carol Chat is most useful during development, testing, and day-to-day admin work. For example, after updating Carol's conversation prompts or product knowledge, an admin might open Carol Chat at `/dev/carol-chat/` to fire off a few test questions and verify the responses look right — all without needing to pull out a phone or open WhatsApp. It's also handy for quick one-off queries, like asking Carol to summarise a product or checking how she handles a tricky customer scenario.
Because access is restricted to admin-level users only, Carol Chat is not something end customers or guests ever see. It sits behind Carol's access controls and is owned by Carol herself. The app runs on port 7172 and is served through the standard nginx gateway alongside other internal tools.
