Merlin executes the tactical layer: converting Elrond's strategic steps into detailed plans, assigning work to teams, writing task instructions, and replanning when tasks drift. TP-AR-02 gives Merlin a way to quickly regenerate or verify a tactical plan on the fly, without waiting for the scheduled planner.

Droid responsibility

TP-AR-02 is Merlin's on-demand tactical planning tool. When Merlin spots a plan that needs re-checking or needs a fresh plan for a specific execution right now, TP-AR-02 runs the planning engine immediately and returns the result.

What the droid actually does

• Takes an execution ID, agent ID, and optional group name as input
• Runs the tactical planning engine
• Returns the generated plan as JSON
• Used for spot-checks, replanning after mid-task adjustments, or validating plans before they go live

Boundaries

• Only runs when triggered; does not run on a schedule.
• Plans for a single execution and agent at a time, not across the whole pipeline.
• Does not save results or integrate them into the live pipeline automatically.
• Uses the same planning logic as TP-AR-01; it just makes it available on demand.
