Merlin owns tactical execution — turning strategic steps into detailed plans, dispatching work, and watching outcomes for problems. To catch issues early, he must validate strategic plans before and during execution. SR-02 covers on-demand re-review: when execution raises doubts about the plan, Merlin can trigger an immediate re-review.
Droid responsibility
When Merlin detects issues during execution — changed context, task failures, or doubts about plan soundness — he needs immediate answers about whether the plan still holds. SR-02 provides this by immediately re-running the strategic review and returning findings to Merlin, so he can decide whether to continue, replan, or escalate.
What the droid actually does
- Receives on-demand re-review request (execution ID and optional phase)
- Runs the full strategic review process
- Returns review findings
Boundaries
Only triggers on explicit on-demand requests; never runs on a schedule. Does not modify the plan, make approval decisions, or escalate. Returns findings only to Merlin; all downstream decisions belong to Merlin.
